More Than Just Forests �� the latest venture from our friends at More Than Just Parks �� has released its latest video and it is an amazing one. This time out they take us to the Dixie National Forest in southwest Utah, revealing the stunning landscapes that can be found there. While we're often fixated on visiting the amazing national parks that are found in the U.S., this is a reminder to not skip out on some of the other public lands that are available. Over the past few years we've been mesmerized by the amazing videos from the More Than Just Parks team. They have taken us all across the U.S. in an effort to show us the incredible beauty that America's National Parks have to offer. Now, they're turning their attention on some of the national forests that surround those parks as well. In this clip, we travel to Bridger-Teton to get a sense of the amazing landscapes found there. We have a seasonal holiday theme for this week's episode of The Adventure Podcast as we take a turn for the spooky. My cohost Dave Adlard and I explore some of the allegedly haunted spots in America's national parks, and elsewhere, with stories of headless ghosts, Civil War apparitions, and crying spirits. If you haven't heard these tales before, they'll make good stories for the next time you're huddle around a campfire. Before delving into that topic however, we start by taking a look at the latest adventure news, with updates from the Himalaya, a look at a winter expedition to K2, and an adventurous couple who are driving across Antarctica in a solar-powered buggy. 91-Year Old Man Sets New Record Summiting Devils Tower

If you're one of those people who thinks age is just a number, I've got a great story to help support that line of thinking. A couple of weeks back a man by the name of Bill Weber set a new age record for climbing Devils Tower  in Wyoming, completing the challenging ascent at the age of 91 . Weber, who is a retired veterinarian from Florida, said that he had read an article earlier in the year about an 87-year old man who had made the climb, setting a new record in the process. Afterward, he thought that he could complete the same climb himself and started planning a trip to the Devils Tower National Monument not long after. The climb came one day after Weber's 91st birthday. He and his two sons had come to the tower for a training session a few days earlier with the hope of making the ascent on the birthday itself. But his guides recommended he take a day off and rest before starting the 16 hour climb to the top of the 5112 ft (1558 meter) laccololithic butte. After the th...
